Stainless Steel W Beams – Wide Flange

Beams represent by far the largest product group among structural steel. There is a huge variety of different beam sizes, which can be sourced throughout the world in both imperial and metric sizes.
Montanstahl has placed its focus on stainless steel grades only. To be able to offer such an encompassed size range requires extremely flexible and automated manufacturing technologies. This could be accomplished with highly sophisticated laser fusion lines.

The American wide flange beam represent a broad product line of bar-shaped building elements with parallel internal surface of the flanges. Their tolerances are defined by ASTM A 484, and being laser fused, the product standard is defined by ASTM A1069.

Montanstahl

A stainless steel beam can be jointed – then it is welded or bolted – or warm manufactured – then it is hot rolled or extruded. Upper and lower horizontal part of the beam is called flange, the connecting vertical middle part is called web.
Wide flanged stainless steel beams are used in commerce and industry but also in machinery and equipment building. The use of stainless steel profiles is characterized by a high flexibility of composition and a fast and cost reduced construction (through the possibility of prefabrication in the steel production). Stainless steel profiles are produced mainly from scrap and can be recycled again after utilization so new resources can be conserved.
